Dom’s Story

Qualified and experienced

From a young age, Dom had a focus on music, having been brought up listening to soul and funk when his mum was in control of the sound system and dance and garage when his sister and father were in control. Dom, growing up in Bedford, was given the opportunity to play an instrument from the age of 10 being offered to play the piano initially. Dom always had his eyes on the saxophone, being a big fan of The Simpsons, and so once he had completed his Grade 1 Piano and had started learning the basics of music managed to get his hands on an Alto Saxophone to start his training on this instrument.

With the focus now on the saxophone, Dom worked hard taking grades yearly to ensure he progressed well and was very fond of playing in bands and learning more and more about the saxophone and playing several different genres of music in the Bedford Modern School Concert Band & Big Band. After completing his Grade 8 Alto Saxophone at school, Dom went off to university where he had a focus on Business as well as his Music.

Having played to a high level within the Concert & Big Bands in the early stages of his degree at Nottingham Trent University, Dom was offered a music scholarship for the remainder of his time at the universities which then saw him progress to help the NTU Big Band achieve the highest accolade a band has achieved at Nottingham Trent, The Platinum Award at the National Concert Band Festival, held at the Royal Northern College of Music.

In his time at university, Dom had dipped his toe in the water performing at weddings, being asked to play by family friends and other friends of friends. He had received a really good response and so once he had completed his degree, Dom recognised that his performances could really add a different touch to any wedding day, due to the genre malleability of the instrument. Dom started promoting his wedding business services from 2018, networking with other wedding business professionals from across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire to engross himself into the industry and allowing him to gain recommendations in the industry that have allowed him to be known to you today.
